Network File Storage and Printing

Information Technology Services is pleased to provide various services based upon Novell's suite of networking products. These services are based upon your NetID, and are accessible using various methods. Choosing an access method depends on the type of computer and operating system you use, as well as the way you want to use the services.

What services are offered?

  • File sharing for defined groups. Shared file storage is available for defined groups. These groups may include students enrolled in a course or staff of particular departments.
  • Networked printing is provided via our Novell based infrastructure. Printers are made available for sharing in Campus computer labs, faculties and departments. In addition, our Novell services provide the local printing capabilities of our central information system, SCT Banner.
  • Desktop application delivery and management can be provided via the Novell ZenWorks desktop management suite. Applications are delivered based upon your role or identity. For example, SCT Banner*, Microsoft Products, Virus Protection, EMail client software, OS Critical updates, etc. can be available

*Access to SCT Banner (non Banner Web) from off campus requires Novell Services and Virtual Private Networking. Please contact your Workgroup Manager or the UCIS Help Desk for more assistance.
