The Killam Help Desk provides walk-in, phone, and e-mail support to Dalhousie faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, a fee based drop-off service is provided.

The Killam Help Desk's advisory services are supplemented by a drop off service. Dalhousie clientelle may bring their computers to the Help Desk to have our staff diagnose and fix problems.
General Rate: $70/hour ($25 minimum)$25 Diagnosis

- Install/Update McAfee
$50 System Restore & Update
- Restore from manufacturer's system restore CDs/DVD
- Update OS
- Install McAfee
- Install VPN
- Install Clean Access (residence)
NB: 1: $75 to restore from Windows CD and best effort to download drivers
A valid Windows license key is required.$50 File Backup/Restore
- Copy user files from damaged (bad HD or bad OS) system that is still reasonably functional.
- Programs are not backed up or restored
- Write files to CD/DVD or store on our HD (for up to 30 days)
- Copy files back to repaired system from our HD
NB: 1: Some restrictions on amount to be backed up 2: Fee waived if we cannot backup files from hard drive. 3: Higher fee (hourly rate) if backup is difficult 4: We cannot warranty your files against failure of our hard drive $75 Both System Restore & Update and File Backup/Restore
If diagnosis or system cleanup encounters bad memory or hard disk the fee is waived.
